Afternoon: Visit the Blithewold Mansion at Christmastime. The magic of Christmas comes alive as each room of the Mansion is filled with elaborate holiday decorations, and the gardens become a glimmering winter wonderland!” After, enjoy Afternoon Tea as the Dining Room at Blithewold has always been a place where fine meals have been served to cherished guests. Today gather and exchange stories while delighting in a cup of tea, freshly baked scones with sweet cream, and a 3-tiered tray filled with sweet and savory treats. Simply luxurious! Arrive and check into the Hampton Inn located in Middletown, Rhode Island for a two night stay. Evening: Enjoy an inclusive dinner this evening at a local Newport restaurant.
Morning: Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a Newport Mansions Driving Tour to see where the most famous of the “American Aristocracy” had built their splendid summer palaces. Plus enjoy a morning tour of the famed Marble House built in 1888 by William K. Vanderbilt, all decked out in holiday finery. Afternoon: Lunch on your own and shopping at Newport’s harbor side Brick Marketplace containing over 25 unique shops and restaurants within its three rows of buildings where you can find everything your heart desires and also shop of some great holiday gifts too! Enjoy a visit to Newport’s Marble House, the home of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt. Enjoy a self guided audio tour of this grand mansion including its Chinese Tea House built on the seaside cliffs. Next, visit Newport’s Breakers Mansion, a 70-room estate built by leading American architect Richard Morris Hunt for Cornelius Vanderbilt II, patriarch of America’s wealthiest family. Its interiors include rich marbles and gilded rooms, with open-air terraces offering magnificent ocean views. See the 15-foot-tall poinsettia tree in the Great Hall made up of 150 poinsettia plants, that provides a perfect holiday photo opportunity. In addition, enjoy a stroll along the historic serpentine walk that surrounds the mansion to view "Sparkling Lights at the Breakers: An Outdoor Magical Wonderland" highlighting 40,000 holiday lights and enhancing the ambiance of a Gilded Age holiday. Evening: Enjoy an inclusive dinner this evening at a local Newport restaurant.

More gilded Christmas magic awaits with a visit to Elms Mansion, an elegant French-style chateau that was the summer residence of Philadelphia coal magnate Edward J. Berwind and sits on a 10-acre park includes an elegantly restored French Classical Sunken Garden. Afternoon: Free time for lunch on your own and shopping at Newport’s harbor side Brick Marketplace. Next, visit Newport Vineyards for a tour and tasting. Enjoy a behind the scenes look at winemaking with a winery tour through the heart of the winery and learn each step of the winemaking process.
