Prices are per person based on double occupancy. Pricing for single, triple and quad occupancy is available. A deposit of $100 per person is due upon reservation and is refundable up to final payment. Cancellation insurance is available at final payment. Balance is due by August 15, 2024 and trip becomes nonrefundable at that time. After August 15, 2024, space is based on availability. Itinerary is subject to change. All times are approximate. 

Day One - Sunday, October 20, 2024

Morning: Board coach in Clifton Park at the Home Depot located at 4 Halfmoon Crossing at 7:00 am. A morning rest stop and a lunch stop will be made in route to Virginia. Evening: Arrive in Charlottesville, VA and enjoy an inclusive welcome dinner at The Local Restaurant including your choice of NY Strip Steak, Honey Glazed Chicken or Salmon, salad and dessert. Check into the Hampton Inn Charlottesville in Charlottesville, VA for a three night stay. Baggage handling is included.

 

Day Two - Monday, October 21, 2024

Morning: Breakfast at your hotel, prior to departure for a day of touring. Visit Montpelier. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Montpelier is the lifelong home of James Madison, Father of the Constitution, architect of the Bill of Rights, and president of the United States. Enjoy a guided house tour, visit the galleries, stroll the garden and forest and many other attractions on the estate's 2,650 acres. Afternoon: Enjoy a scenic drive along Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive. Relax an enjoy an inclusive boxed lunch while taking in magnificent sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views along this scenic road through the Shenandoah Valley National Park. Pass rock cliffs, drive through tunnels of trees and enjoy stops to take in the grand views of this peaceful valley. Tour the Woodrow Wilson Birthplace and Museum. Enjoy an engaging tour of President Wilson’s birthplace, a beautiful pre-Civil War manse. Discover his inspiring story as professor, president, and peacemaker. Immerse yourself in the new state-of-the-art interactive World War I trench exhibit complete with lights and sound to experience what life was like for soldiers as they engaged in battle. A guided historical Staunton, Virginia Driving Tour awaits. See its grand architecture and attractions and hear about its storied history from an experienced guide. Evening: Dinner at Blue Point Seafood in Staunton, VA including your choice of Crab Cakes, NY Strip Steak, Shrimp n Grits or Cajun Pasta Primavera with Grilled Chicken with soup or salad and dessert. 

Day Three - Tuesday, October 22, 2024

Morning: Breakfast at your hotel. Visit Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. See an introductory film and exhibits followed by a guided tour of the extraordinary house designed by Jefferson and built on the mountain top where he had played as a boy including the restored flower and vegetable gardens, grove, and orchards. Afternoon: Lunch at Historic Michie Tavern. As one of the oldest homesteads remaining in Virginia, the Tavern and its outbuildings offer a glimpse of 18th-century life through the exhibit of handcrafted furnishings and artifacts. Tour the 1784 Tavern Museum and visit the General Store on the first floor of the Meadow Run Grist Mill, then enjoy an inclusive hearty colonial fare luncheon. Tour James Monroe’s Highland. The home of Jefferson’s good friend and fellow President James Monroe is a 535-acre estate where visitors can find the atmosphere of an early 19th-century working plantation. Monroe held more major offices' than any other President. Tour the Rotunda & Academical Village of The University of Virginia. The Rotunda as designed by Thomas Jefferson to represent the "authority of nature and power of reason" and was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. Construction began in 1822 and was completed shortly after Jefferson's death in 1826. Evening: Enjoy an inclusive dinner at Bonefish Grill in Charlottesville, VA. Menu TBD.

Day Four - Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Morning: Breakfast at your hotel prior to checking out. Baggage handling is included. Visit Mount Vernon. The riverside estate of George Washington includes the Ford Orientation Center and Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center, facilities with 25 galleries and theaters, more than 700 artifacts, and interactive displays that introduce visitors to the real George Washington. The most famous dentures in the world are on display, along with three life-size models of Washington created from a forensic investigation. The historic area features the restored Mansion, original outbuildings, the tomb where the Washingtons are buried, beautiful gardens, and heritage breed animals who work at a four-acre farm site near the river. Lunch on own today at Mount Vernon’s Food Court while touring. Afternoon: Depart for home at 1:30 pm. Rest and dinner stops in route. Arrival back in Clifton Park at 9:30 pm.
